J.D. Power started the Japan IT Solution Provider Service Satisfaction Study in 1998 and the Japan Hardware Maintenance and Support Service Satisfaction Study (server equipment) for domestic firms with more than 50 employees. It also began carrying out the Japan Network Service Satisfaction Study in 2002 for the same firms. These surveys are an industry benchmarking study for the IT industry and aimed at gauging customer satisfaction.
