J.D. Power carries out a benchmarking study for the communication services for personal and corporate customers in order to gauge customer satisfaction.
For personal communication services, the Japan Mobile Phone Service Satisfaction Study has been carried out since 1999 for the users of cell phones. The Japan Mobile Data Communications Service Satisfaction Study began in 2013 for the users of mobile data communication services. In 2014, the Japan Wireline Broadband Internet Service Satisfaction Study started for the home users of wireline broadband communication services (FTTH or CATV).
And for corporate communication services, the Japan Business Mobile Phone and PHS Service Satisfaction Study and the Japan Business IP Phone & Direct Line Phone Service Satisfaction Study have been conducted since 2009 for companies with more than 100 employees across the nation.
